Senior Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach Job Link Info: James Madison University is seeking an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach to support and provide assistance to the Head S/C Coach and the Athletics Department. This is a 12 months, fulltime position with a comprehensive benefits package. Duties include but are not limited to: program design, guiding student-athletes through a regimen of exercises to optimize performance and decrease injury potential; assisting with the oversight of sport-specific conditioning programs, teaching proper weight lifting, speed, agility and conditioning techniques, encouraging and motivating student-athletes to train and perform to their utmost potential, scheduling athletic teams and supervising workouts of student-athletes; player development, travel, and compliance with NCAA, CAA, and JMU regulations, assisting in the implementation of rehab programs prescribed by the doctors and sports medicine staff. Some weekend and holiday work will be required based on specific sports seasons and team travel. The successful candidate must possess a Bachelor’s Degree (Master's degree in Physical Education, Physiology, Sport Science, or related field preferred); NSCA CSCS and/or CSCCa SCCC Certification (or equivalent); two to three years related work experience; demonstrated experience in administering a successful strength and conditioning program at the collegiate level; thorough knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations; must be proficient in the instruction, assessment, evaluation and supervision of multiple weight lifting techniques; strong communication skills; and knowledge of use and maintenance of fitness equipment. It is important for candidates to have a positive mental attitude and the ability to communicate effectively and work well with students, parents, faculty, staff and the community. Possessing a commitment to high academic standards for student-athletics and their ability to succeed both academically and athletically is essential. Salary to commensurate with experience.
