Race 4 the Cure

The 5K for the Cure is a special event held in the spring to raise financial support for the American Cancer Society (ACS). In the past two years we have raised over $1,000 for the ACS, and increased cancer awareness around the community. The 5K gains support from local businesses around the Harrisonburg area as well as students, faculty, and alumni.

This spring our community outreach team lead, Ellen Roberts, will begin organizing the event with her team. The event itself consists of a 5-kilometer run/walk through the JMU campus. Anyone can register for the event and receive a free t-shirt the day of the race. As the spring approaches we will be advertising for the 2003 Annual 5K for the Cure around campus.
