Faith
What does Chi Alpha
believe?
Basically, we believe that:
1) God is real and exists as the Trinity.
2) God has revealed Himself in Jesus Christ.
3) The Bible is God’s infallible Word.
4) God desires a personal relationship with everyone.
5) God still works
supernaturally to evangelize the lost and to minister to the Church.
This set of beliefs can
be described as orthodox, evangelical, and
Pentecostal.
By
orthodox,
we mean that we affirm the historic declarations of the Christian faith:
specifically the
Apostles’ Creed
and the
Nicene Creed.
By
evangelical,
we mean that we are in agreement with the basic understanding of Protestant
Christianity expressed as the spreading of the good news, or the gospel, and
further defined in the
sympathetic definition of evangelicalism.
By
Pentecostal,
we mean that we believe that the ministry of the Holy Spirit is as
applicable and powerful today as in the first century church and that this
is an important part of the life of the church. We’re the college missions
arm of the Assemblies of God, the world’s largest Pentecostal denomination.
Our full declaration of beliefs denominationally is called
the Assemblies of God Statement of
Fundamental Truths.
