Welcome to MUSG, James Madison University Caving Club!

We hope you are as excited about caving as we are this Spring 2012

We are the Caving Club at JMU. MUSG stands for the Madison University Student Grotto. MUSG was founded in 1979 by a group of people from the JMU Outing Club who wanted to concentrate on caving. Our main objective is to give JMU students and area residents who are interested in caving a chance to explore Virginia's vast underground, while stressing important outdoor techniques and policies such as "leave no trace." caving in the very sensitive cave environment. We are affiliated with the National Speleological Society (NSS), a national organization which represents the interests of cavers and promotes caving.
