The mission of the Foundation is to encourage the highest ideal of womanhood and service, serve the educational mission of Alpha Phi, and be the premier philanthropy for the causes of women.

Theta Iota's A-Phiasco

A-Phiasco is our week long series of events that raises money for the Alpha Phi Foundation.  We send all the proceeds to the Alpha Phi Foundation, they keep 15%, and mail the rest back wherein we present it to the community project we have chosen.  Theta Iota has chosen the Cardiac Care Unit of the Rockingham Memorial Hospital, in Harrisonburg, VA.  See some photos from A-Phiasco in the photos section!

The Alpha Phi Foundation

The Alpha Phi Foundation, founded in 1956, was established eighty-four years after the Fraternity.  The Foundation, in fact, is a separate organization from the Fraternity and has its own officers, staff, and board of directors.  The Foundation was seen then, and is seen now, as being necessary to plan for the Fraternity of tomorrow.  The Fraternity and the Foundation work hand in hand.

To those ends, the Alpha Phi Foundation supports educational and leadership programs, offers scholarships, assists women in crisis, recognizes outstanding cardiac care and research programs, supports community organizations, and awards outstanding college professors.

The Foundation is able to continue its programs through the voluntary contributions from Alpha Phi members and chapters, friends of Alpha Phi, and matching gifts from donors’ employers.

Alpha Phi has donated over a million hours of volunteer service and raised and contributed over $2.25 million for heart projects since 1946.

Alpha Phi is the only organization that has received twice the American Heart Association's highest award, The Heart and Torch Award.
