The American College of Healthcare Executives Student Association (ACHESA) at James Madison University is a student chapter of its parent organization, the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE).  ACHE is a professional society for almost 30,000 healthcare executives.  Currently, there are 145 student chapters which include over 3,000 student associates in the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico.  ACHE provides knowledge and skills to present and future healthcare executive leaders through its many educational programs, including an annual conference in Chicago.

The purpose of the our student chapter is to expose Health Services Administration majors to established healthcare managers.  ACHESA often hosts guest speakers within the healthcare field to inform and educate our members.  The student chapter also helps students develop skills to market themselves upon graduation for many types of health-related jobs, primarily entry-level management positions.  ACHESA provides a strong foundation for students to network and is also a place where employers can look for future employees.

Congratulations to ACHESA President Jenifer Murphy, the first place winner in the undergraduate division of the 2004 Hill-Rom Management Essay Competition!
