Welcome to the James Madison University's Chapter of the Association for Childhood Education International (ACEI). The mission of ACEI is to promote and support in the global community the optimal education and development of children, from birth through early adolescence, and to influence the professional growth of educators and the efforts of others who are committed to the needs of children in a changing society. The JMU Chapter of ACEI will serve as a support and information center for the Elementary Education Students. The Chapter will serve the needs of these students by providing professional development opportunities. The workshops that arise for professional development will be offered based on the needs of the JMU students. ACEI wants to provide information that will be most useful to the students. JMU ACEI will also offer social events throughout the semester to provide an opportunity for students to meet other students within the major. All JMU Elementary Education Students are required to join ACEI. To become a member, you must visit the Main ACEI Website. You must also renew your membership every year. As a member, you will have access to ACEI resources as well as be a member of an official JMU Club! As a member you will also receive their bi-monthly publication, Childhood Education. The Association holds conferences every year.
