Awards and Recognition:

With revitalized fervor and a renewed interest in competition with other schools statewide and nationally, the JMU NSA began its work toward success in the fall of 2000. As a result, JMU NSA enjoyed the spotlight at the Virginia Nursing Student Association annual convention awards ceremony with the following awards: 

 

* Spirit Award, 2001-2002
* Most Active Constituent for Virginia, 2001-2002; 2003-2004
* The 2000-2001 Community Service Project was also submitted at the National level but did not place.
* Faculty Member of the Year for Advisor Vicki Martin, 2000-2001

*Nursing Student of the Year, 2003-2004 for Stephanie Jenkins
* Second Place for the Scrapbook Competition, 2000-2001; Third Place, 2003-2004
* Most Active Constituent for Virginia, 2000-2001
* Community Service Project of the Year for Virginia, 2000-2001; 2003-2004
